David Lackey
has been collecting antiques since the age of 6 and
dealing since he was 12. Reared in west Texas and New
Mexico, he began to buy antique toys, depression glass
and assorted junk at garage sales, flea markets and
small-town auctions in the mid-1960s. After graduating
from Baylor University in 1979, he worked in retail
sales until 1983, when he embraced antiques as a full-time
business. From 1985-1986, he studied at the Christie's
Fine Arts Course in London with a specialization in
ceramics and has since become an active dealer in Houston,
Texas. He is an obsessive collector of Spode porcelain,
armorial ceramics and vintage Texas and Louisiana art.
